REMEMBERING THE GREATEST GENERATION

This is Memorial Day in the USA so like many others I am remembering my father, a WWII veteran who served in the South Pacific. He would be 99 years old if he was still living. He is still living but in a far better place. Thanks to him and all those brave men and women who served in all branches of the service and those who were our allies. Like a former soldier myself, I know that one serves one’s country out of duty and loyalty. There were those who had to serve in the military of those nations with whom we were fighting, many who did not espouse the rhetoric of their nations leaders. Today, our former enemies are some our nation’s closest allies. So, I remember those brave persons who lost their lives fighting for a cause they may not have believed in. This is such an imperfect world.
