With gentleness and respect

I like to try to explain why I believe in God and Jesus Christ. It not only affirms what I feel to be true but allows me to reaffirm it in my heart. but, I also hope that I can help those who are searching for truth to find it. I hear the rhetoric of those who oppose Christians and Christianity and their posts have a certain ‘bite’ to them–they are hostile and hateful. That is to be expected. I read 1 Peter 3:13-15 today, where it says: “Who is going to harm you if you are eager to do good? But even if you should suffer for what is right, you are blessed. “Do not fear their threats; do not be frightened.” But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect,” So, I want my attitude to reflect what Peter is instructing us to do and be, with gentleness and respect.

That is not easy, considering the angry, spiteful words and total misunderstanding of the critiques. But, I do not want to respond in the same manner. What’s the point of such anger? Isn’t it better and more enjoyable to have a civil conversation?

let’s proceed with civil conversation.
