I have been focusing on s book I want to write on suffering, I want to write some of it on a popular level and some a little more on the theological side. It is easier to sell a manuscript written on the popular side than one written on the academic side. So, we’ll see how it goes.
I write while having to deal with numerous medical issues that I am growing weary of but that I will have from this point on. It is to be expected as long as we are in this body. Fortunately, there will come a time when we will have a renewed body and live on a renewed earth. No, I’m not in an apocalyptic cult, but expressing a real hope based on reasonable faith because I believe in a real God who deals with reality and will prevail, in spite of all that seems to say the contrary.
I have been reading Habakkuk this week and am reminded of his faith when he wrote
“Though the fig tree does not bud
and there are no grapes on the vines,
though the olive crop fails
and the fields produce no food,
though there are no sheep in the pen
and no cattle in the stalls,
yet I will rejoice in the Lord,
I will be joyful in God my Savior.” (NIV)
